THIEF RIVER FALLS GAME DAY GUIDELINES - OLD ARENA

Following MN Hockey Return to Play Guidelines Phase 5 (Jan 12, 2021) and District 16 Game Protocol (Jan 14, 2021)

Minnesota Hockey announced its guidance for Phase 5, which will go into effect on Thursday, January 14 when games may resume. Key highlights of Phase 5 include:

• A maximum of four spectators per player will be allowed for games, with exceptions for parents or guardians who must bring in young children.
• No resurfacing during games (between periods).
• Per the state mandate, cloth face coverings (masks) must always be worn by everyone inside the arena.  This includes participants during on-ice game play. 
• No equipment bags will be allowed in facilities with the exceptions of goalies, small drawstring bags will be allowed
• Only active players and 3 coaches are allowed on the bench during game play. Players unable to participate may not be on the bench.

Arriving at the Rink (Old Arena) & Game time:

• Home team will wear white jersey; Visiting team will wear dark jersey.
• 15 minutes prior to game: goalies are allowed in
• 10 minutes prior to game: players can enter
• Spectators are allowed in at warm-ups or as players take the ice (approximately 5 minutes before game).
• Players must arrive to the arena fully dressed, apart from skates, helmet and gloves.  Goalies can arrive half dressed.  All players should have their own water bottles and masks. 
• Locker rooms will be available at the Old Arena.  Home Teams will use Locker Rooms A and B. Visiting Teams will use Locker Rooms C and D.
• Spectators must sign in with the forms provided. 
• A home team representative will be checking in spectators at the gate (max. 4 per player, with exceptions for families with younger siblings). Please sign form.
• No concessions will be offered.
• No spectators behind the player benches, please.
• Whenever possible, players should use the restroom at home prior to leaving for the rink in an effort to limit bathroom use at the facility.
• Team managers – please have 3 roster stickers ready (cross out any players not playing). 
• The scorer’s/penalty box should be staffed by no more than 2 persons, that are socially distanced.  Masks should be worn at all times.
• We ask that the Visiting Team supply a parent for the Visitor's Penalty Box this season. Thank you for helping with this!
• Games:  5 minute warm-up; 3  15 minute periods; 2 minutes rest between periods.  NO overtime. 
• Spectators to leave immediately at game end, players up to 10 minutes after game, and goalies up to 15 minutes after the game
